Dance Connection: Get Your Latin Groove On

Have you heard of Dance Connection? They’re a dance studio located on Clybourn (east of Western) that hosts a series of Latin themed dance classes and workshops. They also offer private lessons.

I’ve been going to Dance Connection for a few weeks now and love it. The owner/instructor Alejandro is great. He’s patient, friendly, knowledgeable and fun.

You can learn all sorts of dance types including : Salsa, Cumbia,  Bachata and classic Ballroom dances such as the famous Waltz, the sultry Tango, Bolero, Fox Trot, Jive, Mambo and more. Dance Connection Chicago on Clybourn is affordable, local and just plain awesome.

The Mambo dance is a playful, high-energy, flirtatious, and sensual dance that is great fun to learn. Learn more about this dance that originated in Havana, Cuba in the 1940’s by clicking on the link below and come in for a dance lesson today.

They have several group dance classes starting at only $14 per hour, including Salsa on Wednesday nights. Visit their website for the full group class schedule and lesson calendar.

I love the lessons I’m taking along with my sister, and although (the Bachata dance) is not easy at all – Alejandro is great and patient and making it fun. Will I learn all the steps? Only time will tell – but I’m willing to give this challenging dance style a go.

Want to take a refresher course on a specific Latin dance style? Or learn something entirely new – give Dance Connection a try.
